2018 SOAR Schedule Changes Rationale:

Volleyball Delayed- The 2018 Volleyball season will begin later in January (the 20th) in order to allow more planning and recruitment time, with respect to the Christmas and New Year Holidays. The length of the season is the same and will conclude on March 24th.

Changes to Soccer Season Schedule- For years now we have held Youth Soccer in the Spring, immediately after Volleyball season until the end of the school year, which creates a lengthy commitment for volunteers and staff involved in both sports back-to-back. Also, our ball fields were remodeled a couple years ago. The new fields are designed to thrive in the summer months, into the Fall, and are in much better condition in the Fall than in the Spring. Click here for more information regarding our new FALL SOCCER SEASON.

Suspension of Baseball/Softball- The SOAR Committee decided to suspend Baseball/Softball from the 2018 SOAR Calendar. Baseball was the first SOAR sport at First Presbyterian over 25 years ago. In 2018, we will take a break in order to reorganize our volunteer base for Baseball/Softball and discover options to best utilize our resources and calendar space available to operate the sport with the least amount of interference with other church, community, and family activities.
